MDRFee.com is an independent, non-commercial informational website about UPI Merchant Discount Rate (MDR) charges in India. It provides a free MDR calculator, plain-language explainers, and a sourced rate database — all running entirely in your browser with no data collected.
Why We Built This
When the 0.4% UPI MDR policy was announced in September 2026, there was significant confusion — social media called it a "UPI tax," merchants didn't know if they were exempt, and consumers worried about being charged extra. We built this site to provide a single, factual, well-sourced reference.
Our Editorial Policy
- Primary sources only: All rates and policy facts are sourced from NPCI, RBI, PIB (Government of India), and Payment & Settlement Systems Act.
- Unverified rates clearly marked: Any rate without a confirmed primary source is marked "⚠️ Est." with a note explaining the uncertainty.
- No guessing: If a fact cannot be verified, we say so — we never invent numbers.
- Regular updates: Rates are maintained in a single verified database. When NPCI or RBI announces changes, the site is updated immediately.
